The Norman Conquest of England

It happened 948 years ago today when England’s king was killed at the Battle of Hastings.  Here is an image from the Bayeux Tapestry, a beautiful embroidered cloth that tells the story of William the Conqueror.  This event in British history has never failed to capture my imagination.
