Two months ago last night, I sat down with my WordPress account and decided to make something of it.
A year prior, back in September of 2013, I created this blog with the express intent of carving out an outpost in cyberspace. Just a place to express my feelings and thoughts and share ideas with others.
A full year passed before I did anything with this account. I was writing my first novel and all of my attention was understandably on that project. Once I had completed the second draft of “Velvet,” I decided it was time to try something different.
When I logged into WordPress two months ago, my poor little barren blog stared at me and asked “why, Echo…why have you forsaken me?” I looked at the screen and its barren landscape and decided it was time to spiff it up and to introduce myself to the world.
That night, I went to work. And to be honest, I had more fun creating this thing than I thought I ever would.
So many of you have decided to follow me on this blogging journey, and I am very grateful for each of you. It is an amazing feeling, knowing that there are people out there interested in what I have to say. I hope that you enjoy your stay when you stop in for a visit. And I hope you know that I thank you very much for knocking on my door here.
If you have a blog but haven’t been working with it, I’d suggest you take a little time and sit with your blog. You may be surprised how a spark of creativity can suddenly set you afire with ideas to help you get your message out to the world.
And when you do, be sure to post loud and proud about your venture.
The world is waiting, and so am I.
