Yes, I am a little shy in certain circumstances. Yes, I tend to keep to myself a lot. But no, I’m not depressed or suicidal, and I’m most certainly not antisocial.
On that same note, I am not a hermit. I just love my books. They are my deepest and most lasting friends, and I love them all.
If only there was enough time in the day to read as much as I would like. That is the one true travesty in my life. Not enough time to read.
I’ve taken to carving out an hour here, ten minutes there, anytime I can find a few uninterrupted moments to pick up a book and lose myself within its pages.
The books I read take up residence in my soul. Some continue with me as I walk down my path, while others fade away.
Thank goodness for well-stocked city libraries, free Kindle editions and online blogs/magazines/libraries. There are infinite choices in the world of reading. What will I pick up next? Only time will tell.
For now, let me get back to my battered copy of “Jane Eyre” and I’ll catch up with you soon. Cheers.
