Reality

Here is a picture from the Hubble Space Telescope. It is an image of the “ultra deep field” located in the constellation of Fornax. This image is looking back in time to approximately 13 billion years ago.

These galaxies you see are composed of tremendously ancient light.

Just look at this for a moment and let this sink in. The light you are seeing is 13 billion years old.

Now, ponder your reality. Not just your life, your job, your family, your friends…your absolute reality.

Where are you?

Where?

Look at this picture. The reality we all share and experience is this: we are living, breathing and moving about on a tiny speck of a planet in a tiny, minuscule region of the cosmos.

When this clicks within your awareness, you will feel it. You will know you are more than an earthling.

You are a citizen of the universe.

Expand your awareness a little each and every day. Pull yourself out of the dream in which you live. Look up at night. Look out.

See your cosmic neighborhood.

  1. Images like that fascinate me deeply, that whole area could be destroyed and we won’t know for another 13billion years as that is how long it will take for the light to get here. I wonder what is out there, what over life forms, or sights to gaze upon, my brain cannot fathom it.

I can answer where we are though, we are here.

    1. Yes! Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot” was the first image that made me sit back and think about everything. That little dot is Planet Earth, and everything we have or ever will know, do, and be is on that dot. What a mind-blowing thing to realize. Thank you for your great comment and sharing the brilliant post. Peace.
